Welcome to the Big Oak Barn! We’re thrilled to host you. To ensure a seamless and enjoyable stay, please follow these guidelines.

Check-In Procedures


1. Entry Code: 2008

  • This is the code provided in your booking confirmation to access the property.
  • Keep this code confidential for your safety.


2. Shoe & Boot Storage:

  • Please remove outdoor footwear upon entry to maintain cleanliness.
  • Use the designated storage area near the entrance.


3. Initial Walkthrough:

  • Familiarize yourself with the layout and features of the property.


4. Turning on the power: please use card provided. When leaving property kindly remove.

Using the Facilities

Log Fires

Lighting the Fire:

  • Kindling and firewood are provided for your stay.
  • Additional bags of firewood are available for £10 each (contact us to arrange).


Ash Disposal:

  • Once cool, dispose of ashes in the designated metal bin outside.

Kitchen


Appliances:

  • Two ovens, a large induction hob, and two dishwashers are available for your use.
  • Refer to the appliance manuals (stored in the kitchen drawer) for instructions.


Cleaning Equipment:

  • Vacuum, Mop & bucket, broom & brushes located in the tall Kitchen cupboard.

Sauna

Instructions:

  • Turn on the sauna using the control panel (instructions located nearby).
  • The clock switch is on the lower part of the sauna stove. It can be used both for switching on and as a timer. The warming time desired, 1-4 hours, or a preselected time, 1-8 hours, can be adjusted with the clock switch.
  • The lighter area of dial 1 is for immediate heat. The darker section of dial 1 is to preset the timer.
  • Turn on the sauna using the control panel (instructions located nearby).


Functional example:

  • When switching to number 2 on the light area of the scale, the sauna stove is immediately connected to function and this function will end in 2 hours.
  • When switching to number 4 on the black area (the preselection area), the sauna stove is connected to function in 4 hours.
  • Do not leave the sauna unattended while in use.
  • Do not use against doctor’s orders.

Hot Tub

Usage Guidelines:

  • Refer to the laminated instructions beside the tub.
  • Ensure the cover is replaced after use.
  • Do not add any substances to the water.
  • Do not use against doctor’s orders.
  • No glassware permitted only plastic.
  • Top water up to the line with the hose pipe before replacing the lid.

Arctic Cabin

For BBQ or Relaxation

  • The Arctic Cabin can be used for grilling or as a cozy retreat.
  • Follow the grilling instructions provided inside the cabin.

Outdoor Amenities

Outside TV

  • An all-weather TV is mounted on the barn.
  • TV remotes are placed in the Arctic Cabin.
  • To activate, aim the remote through the window, as it communicates with the main TV system inside.


Fire Table with Gas Heater

  • Ensure the gas valve is turned off after use.
  • We can supply a cylinder of gas for £30.

Garden & Outdoor Spaces

⚠️ NO GLASS PERMITTED OUTSIDE ⚠️

  • In the outdoor bar area, you will find a storage box with suitable plastic glasses.

House Rules

Noise

  • Late-night noise is strictly prohibited.


Prohibited Activities

  • No drug use allowed on the property you may be asked to leave and will forfeit your deposit


Respect for Property

  • Treat all equipment and facilities with care.

Check-Out Procedures

General Cleaning

  • Tidy up and clean all areas you’ve used.
  • Return the property to the condition you found it.


Beds

  • Strip all beds, leaving only the pillow and mattress protectors.


Belongings

  • Check thoroughly for any personal items.


Logout

  • Log out of any apps on TVs or devices. We are not responsible for the actions of future guests.

Recycling & Trash

  • Ensure all recycling is taken to the main entrance bins.
  • Dispose of general waste in the appropriate bins.
  • Sort bottles, cans & plastic into relevant bins. Household waste in black bins at the entrance to site.
